You will play a crucial role in our organization by reviewing project drawings and accurately assessing a project's scope and then gathering cost estimates and other applicable information to ensure a smooth and successful start to our projects.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine project requirements and scope.
Gather cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities that may impact project costs and timelines.
Prepare cost proposals for clients, highlighting key cost drivers and justifying estimates.
Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
Stay updated with industry trends, construction methods, and pricing fluctuations to provide accurate cost assessments.
Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality and functionality.
Requirements:
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Computer literacy, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook are a must.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with local building codes, and regulations.
