The Music Lab Coordinator position provides crucial support to the Music Department, facilitating music events, assisting music instructors, and maintaining equipment.
The primary goal is to provide quality music while creating a safe working environment for students.
The Music Lab Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences.
ResponsibilitiesInspect and maintain instruments and equipment.
Clean and sanitize instruments and maintain music labs to ensure safety and cleanliness.
Manage the check-out process and maintain a monthly inventory of instruments and equipment.
Provide comprehensive support to the music department and its events.
Design flyers, promotional materials, and programs for music performances.
Coordinate the logistics for approved music group performances, including loading, unloading, and returning instruments and equipment to their designated areas.
Organize and catalog all audio materials.
Order equipment and supplies, such as recording studio discs, sound equipment, instruments, etc.
, including arrangements for instrumental ensembles.
Repair and replace instruments in the department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent required with two years of high school or college band, orchestra, or choral program experience preferred.
One year of basic music technology experience along with basic repair and upkeep experience with music equipment.
Familiarity with the music field is essential.
Capability to select, organize, and transport instruments and equipment is a must.
Commitment to working a maximum of 25 hours per week.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in working independently and following directions.
