3 Sugar Grove, IL Sugar Grove, IL Full-time Full-time From $28 an hour From $28 an hour 12 days ago 12 days ago 12 days ago The Voice Systems Supervisor is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the PBX system and related equipment at all campuses as well as the voice mail, auto-attendant, ACD, and call accounting systems.
This position is also responsible for maintaining Waubonsee's phone and E911 database as related to the college.
The Voice Systems Supervisor reports to the Senior Network Technology Manager.
Responsibilities Maintain PBXs at all campuses as well as voice mail, auto-attendant, ACD, trunks and circuits that service the college and call accounting systems along with performing backups on these systems.
Perform telephone adds/moves/changes along with troubleshooting and repairing faulty internal wiring and fuses as needed and documentation as required.
Maintain phone system infrastructure to adequately meet the current and future communication needs of the college along with researching voice systems technologies for the best user experience and optimal performance.
Supervise and provide direction for part - time Network Technology specialist and part-time Cable and Fiber Optic technician on voice system related tasks and procedures for support at all campus locations.
Report service disruptions and outages to carriers and ensure phone bills as well as other monthly telecom bills are accurate.
Establish and enforce standards and procedures for phone and voice mail system usage.
Maintain various databases and inventories including phone extensions, and related wiring, supplies and equipment and Locator ID E911.
Program auto attendant and ACD structural changes and coordinate with Marketing and Communications for related recording changes.
Provide tertiary support for voice systems related requests initiated by the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and assist that area with technical help when needed.
Back up and assist in programming and maintenance of network data switches.
Assist in maintenance and repair of wireless network and functionality of wireless/mobile devices.
Work with network staff on programming IP phones and ports and maintaining Network for voice traffic/VOIP integration.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required, Associate's Degree preferred.
Three years of telecommunication, PBX or related experience required.
Knowledge of SIP , fiber optics, trunks, signaling and framing and hunt groups.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Good organizational and customer service skills.
Ability to travel among campus locations and valid driver's license required General knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, Maintenance Administration Terminal software and voice mail/auto attendant software.
Available to work off hours and weekends when required.
Three years of knowledge of networking standards and protocols required.
Knowledge of ACD/UCB programming and maintenance.
Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds.
